Connecting to Web Map Services (WMS)
The IndianaMap supports the Open GIS WMS standard for platform-independent services. From any WMS-compatible client, you can establish a connection to the IndianaMap service.
The example below shows how to add WMS Server services in ESRI ArcMap:
1. Open ArcMap.
2. Click the Add Data button.
3. In the Add Data dialog box, from the "Look In" drop-down menu, choose GIS Servers
4. Double-click on Add WMS Server
5. Enter the URL for the WMS service of interest using the URL syntax below:
http://igsmap1.indiana.edu/wmsconnector/com.esri.wms.Esrimap?ServiceName=MAP SERVICE
Replace "MAP SERVICE" with the name of the map service listed below.

Connecting to ArcIMS Services from ArcMap
ESRI ArcMap software users can load IndianaMap layers directly into their software using ArcIMS Server services.
The example below shows how to add ArcIMS Server services in ESRI ArcMap:
1. Open ArcMap.
2. Click the "Add Data" button.
3. In the Add Data dialog box, from the "Look In" drop-down menu, choose "GIS Servers."
4. Double-click "Add ArcIMS Server."
5. Enter the URL for the server: http://inmap.indiana.edu, and click on "Get List." After the list displays select "All Services (recommended)," or "Just the following services(s)" and click the check box next to the data services desired, and then click OK.
(Note: The ArcIMS Services available are the same as the services listed in the table in Step 5 of the WMS instructions above.)

6. The service will now display in the Add Data dialog. Select it and click on "Add."

7. You can now select one or more map services (layers) and click "Add" to load the map services into ArcMap.
8. After you've established the connection the first time, you can add additional services (layers) by simply repeating Steps 6 and 7.
